Jonathan Cullen's theatrical career has included major roles with the Royal Shakespeare Company, the National Theatre, the Royal Court, the Old Vic, Shakespeare's Globe, Chichester Festival Theatre and numerous shows in the West End, including with F. Murray Abraham in The Mentor. Most recently he enjoyed playing the irascible Frenchman Dr. Caius in The Merry Wives of Windsor for the Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford-upon-Avon and in London. He has also worked extensively in film, television and radio.
Since 1998, Cullen has been a visiting teacher at some of London’s major drama schools and university theater programs. He has also worked with graduating students of the American Conservatory Theater school in San Francisco; and for several years has been a visiting Guest Professor in the Department of Theater Studies at Duke University.
His directing credits include work at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, the Guildhall School of Drama, Rose Bruford College, the British American Drama Academy, the Globe Theatre Education Department, and at Chichester Festival Theatre.
