What brought you to Theater Studies? When I came to Duke, I never thought I’d be involved in theater. I’d always admired it from the audience, but I’d never stepped behind the scenes. Towards the end of my first semester, I kept getting emails from Hoof ‘n’ Horn looking for a choreographer for its winter show. On a whim, I reached out and ended up as the assistant choreographer. I fell in love with theater from there. I came to the Theater Studies department because I wanted to learn more about the artform I’d suddenly found myself immersed in. I stayed involved with both the department and Hoof ‘n’ Horn because I loved having a creative outlet to balance out my STEM classes, and I loved the people even more!
