Tenley Seidel

Tenley Shai Seidel is a senior from Swampscott, MA, graduating with a double major in Theater Studies and Global Cultural Studies in the Program in Literature and a minor in History. She is grateful for every artistic experience Duke has provided her—from the title role in the Theater Studies Mainstage prodution of Medea to the role of Sally Bowles in Hoof ‘n’ Horn’s production of Cabaret to singing with her a cappella group “Out of the Blue.” Tenley received Graduation with Highest Distinction for her research and performance of Jessica Dickey’s one-woman play, The Amish Project. During the process, she worked under the direction of Professor Jeff Storer to differentiate between the play’s seven characters without any costume changes.

Tenley will miss many facets of her Duke Theater Studies experience, but perhaps most of all she will miss the intellectual curiosity, creativity, and inspiration of the department. She is grateful for all that she has learned and all the ways she’s been pushed to grow as an artist and as a person.
