Blue
Samantha Meyers
Spring, 2018

Senior Samantha Meyers (director of Me Too Monologues 2018) spent last semester working with Duke playwright Neal Bell to create her original script.  This semester, Sam is working with faculty director Jody McAuliffe to get the script on its feet for the first time.  She is casting the show with students from the senior colloquium class that Professor McAuliffe teaches. The result, Blue, will be presented as an "in-progress" staged reading in Brody Theater March 24-25.  Hunter Stark will direct the cast which includes students George Lucas, Judy Riviere, Alex Felix & Sabrina Maciariello, as well as Professor McAuliffe herself and Professor Emeritus Frank Lentricchia.

Sam's note: "Blue was written as an investigation into our reliance on memory, and each other, to define ourselves. A conversation with the things we begin to lose, and the people who help us recover them."

This project was made possible in part by a Trinity Research Enhancement award from the Office of Undergraduate Education.
