Mary Candler
Founder, Hedgepig Ensemble Theatre; Founder and Teacher, Joyful Singing
Mary Candler (nee Molly Fulweiler) is an actor, singer, producer, and voice teacher. After founding and serving as Artistic Director of Hedgepig Ensemble Theatre in New York City for a decade, she has relocated to Washington DC and runs a virtual voice studio. She remains actively involved in Hedgepig as Chair of the Board and a curator for the Expand the Canon program, which she co-created. Expand the Canon (www.expandthecanon.com) is an initiative that identifies and advocates for great historic plays by women and non-binary writers. The classics have been too white and too male for too long -- we're changing that. Mary has an MFA in classical acting from The Shakespeare Theatre Company of DC.
