Austin Davis Ruiz (he/him/his) currently serves as the Community Engagement Manager for Harris County Precinct 4, managing community building events and constituent services for the precinct. Austin is also president of the Houston LGBTQ+ Political Caucus, the oldest, LGBTQ+ civil rights organization in the South. He is the first male, Latino and one of the youngest president's in the organization's almost 50 year history. A native Houstonian, Austin graduated from Duke in 2017 with a double major in Theater Studies and Public Policy Studies. During his time as an undergrad, he was involved in Hoof 'n' Horn, Duke Sabrosura, Duke Student Broadcasting, Me Too Monologues, and Duke University Union.
