A Woman is visited by the Gods and told that if she can’t prove she’s Good in one year, the world will end. No pressure!! As the Woman balances love, business ownership, and civil responsibility, the mandate to be Good proves impossible... on her own. To preserve her Goodness, she creates an alter ego who isn’t afraid to get the job done by any means necessary: the Girl Boss.
GOOD explores the measures women take to maintain their identity in a world that consistently proves they will never be enough – but also strongly advises them against being too much.
Bertolt Brecht’s The Good Woman of Setzuan is reimagined for the 21st century in this ensemble-driven play with an original pop score created by Duke Theater Studies Artist in Residence Rebecca Wahls.
