Taking a progressive dive into Shakespeare’s sonnets, soliloquies, and scenes, students will learn the steps to unpack the music and power of the language while exploring classic themes and how they are relevant today. Modern foundational acting principles are applied to Early Modern text, and students will gain one or more soliloquies for their actor's tool box for future use. Students will participate in different exercises, including warm-up techniques, to sharpen and support their vocal instruments, opening the door so they can find the event of the scene, trust the work, and let go to play the truth of the moment.
