Summer apprenticeships in Aspen!

Theatre Aspen, one of the West’s most highly regarded theater companies, announced today that it wants Duke students to apply for its Summer 2016 theater apprentice program. Excitingly, Duke alumnus David Lambert has fully funded two apprenticeship positions specifically for Duke students. The apprenticeship offers a unique opportunity for theater lovers of all stripes: technicians, designers, music directors, aspiring arts administrators and educators, and performers. Apprentices will have the opportunity to work with veterans from the theater worlds of Broadway, Hollywood, and national touring productions. At the end of the summer, the technical and performing apprentices will team up to put on a large summer showcase. The online application is live now and open until February 28, 2016.

Apprentices receive free housing in the beautiful Rocky Mountains and earn a weekly stipend of $100-$150 to cover food costs. The apprenticeship runs from approximately May 29th through on or about August 21st, 2016.

Duke Theater Studies will be hosting an information session Wednesday, February 10 at noon in Page 106 with David Gram, the apprentice coordinator, and Cullen Burling, a Duke Theater Studies major and former apprentice.
