A native of Memphis, Tennessee, Fred was president of the Duke Players while at Duke and later attended the Pasadena Playhouse College of Theater Arts. He received a Best Supporting Actor Atlas Award nomination for portraying Dr. Gibbs in Our Town at San Diego's Old Globe Theatre. He has since started a writing career.
