Kali Quinn is a facilitator of discovery, innovative story-telling, and physical play. With a background in both physically devised and text-based work. Kali works and plays as a teacher, movement designer, director, performer, clown, violinist, solo artist, creator of community-interactive art installations, and stilt-walker.
Kali Quinn is based in Providence, RI where she teaches in the Brown/Trinity Rep MFA Program & works as University Relations Director for Accademia dell’Arte (Arezzo, Italy). Kali has performed with Clowns Without Borders, Padua Playwrights, Telluride Rep, Dell’Arte, along with creating two solo shows which have played at: Ko Festival, PS122, The Tank, Williams College, United Solo, & Here Arts Center. Kali has directed devised work at: Bucknell, Mississippi University for Women, MOTH Aerial Dance, & Grupo Galpao in Brazil. She has trained/designed movement for Duke University, The Pearl Theatre Company, Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble, been on the faculty at New England Youth Theatre, Vermont Academy, Celebration Barn, and New England Center for Circus Arts, and taught workshops at MIT, UMASS Amherst, Muhlenberg, Dickinson, Boston University, & Coastal Carolina. Kali serves on the Board for the Network of Ensemble Theaters. Training: BA, University of Rochester; MFA, Dell’Arte School of Physical Theatre.
Kali conducted workshops for the student cast members in both Uncle Vanya (fall 2013) and Machinal (spring 2014), helping them to discover gestural vocabularies for their roles.
