Cabaret Workshop presents ZEITGEIST NOW & THEN

Wednesday, April 18, 2018

This cabaret performance class (THEATRST 241) has been based on the comparison between the social issues and artistic styles that influenced the cabaret scene in Weimar Germany in the 1930s and the current social issues and music trends that came later in the 20th and 21st centuries.  Before World War II, cabarets in Berlin and Paris were where the irreverent and the unspoken dared to live. We offer our version of this tonight through song and movement.  Directed by Ellen Hemphill, music direction by Louis Landry.

PERFORMERS: Beryl Baldwin, Ahnna Beruk, Mia Carlson, Alexis Harrell, Michelle Larsen, Casey Pettiford, Micah Segal-Miller, Ayden Sng, Delaney Thompson, Alexus Wells

Songs include: I Don’t Want to Set the World on Fire, It’s a Jungle Out There, Raise Hell
