The Art of Public Speaking: The Natural Voice

THEATRST 248S

This course is open to undergraduate and graduate students at all levels of vocal exploration. It is for students who want to explore their own vocal habits and learn how each voice can be strengthened and sculpted. Whether for theater, public speaking, singing, or building confidence, this work addresses the unique possibilities of each individual voice. We will work with breathing exercises, text, tone, resonators, and movements. There will be assigned readings and presentations in class. Please note: it is up to the Director of Graduate Studies for a graduate student's academic program to allow an undergraduate course to count for a master's or doctoral degree.
