Joanne Howarth


As an actor Joanne's theatre work includes for the Royal Shakespeare Company: FAUST, LES ENFANTS DU PARADIS, THE VIRTUOSO, Sam Mendes production of THE ALCHEMIST , David Leveaux' 'TIS PITY SHE'S A WHORE and JULIUS CAESAR and in 2007 Neil Bartlett's TWELFTH NIGHT and Nancy Meckler's COMEDY OF ERRORS. For the Royal National Theatre, HE WHO SAW EVERYTHING. In London Joanne was in THE FIREWORK-MAKERS DAUGHTER ( Hammersmith Lyric/Told by an Idiot), SINGER (The Tricycle), ROMEO AND JULIET and THE POWER OF DARKNESS (The Orange Tree), PERA PALAS (The Gate) and Dreamthinkspeak's WHO GOES THERE? (BAC and Brighton Festival) Widespread work in the rest of the UK includes roles in many repertory theatres and on regional tours including PRESENT LAUGHTER with Rik Mayall and international tours including THE PULL OF NEGATIVE GRAVITY Off-Broadway in 2005. Jo is a regular Shakespeare's Globe practitioner where she played Cassius in JULIUS CAESAR and also directed MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING in 2007/8 as well as a tour of OTHELLO for the Education Department. She has run workshops there since the theatre opened.
