Visiting Artists 2016

Blackwell is a NYC based trans actor, performer and writer who exists between genders, and prefers the pronoun "they."  They have recently created the autobiographical They, Themself and Schmerm, inspired by the trainwreck of a self-produced video by Corey Haim called Me, Myself and I.  Previous work with Circus Amok and playwrights Young Jean Lee and Lisa D’Amour helped set B

 The Civilians, a Brooklyn-based investigative theater company, begin the first installment of a unique three-part residency with performances of their latest piece of work, The Undertaking, on September 29, 30 and October 1.

Kathleen Baum is an actor, teacher, and director with a specialization in movement based approaches to acting and actor training. Her work is grounded in the symbiosis she finds between Meyerhold’s Theatrical Biomechanics and the Alexander Technique.

Peter Nachtrieb is the Mellon Playwright in Residence at San Francisco’s Z Space and was selected by New Dramatists  for one of their  seven-year residencies in NYC.  His work has been seen off-Broadway and across the country including at Ars Nova, Woolly Mammoth, Seattle Repertory, Actors Theatre of Louisville, San Diego Rep, A.C.T., Impact Theatre, and The Bay Area Playwrights Festival.

Allison Leyton-Brown is an award-winning composer, pianist, and musical director based in New York City. Allison studied music composition and jazz improvisation at Montreal’s Concordia University. In 2001 she earned her masters in musical theater writing (composition) from NYU’s prestigious Tisch School of the Arts.

Barbara Hammond is a New York playwright, filmmaker and songwriter. She is a New Dramatists resident playwright (Class of 2018) and is currently under commission from both the Royal Court Theatre and the Contemporary American Theatre Festival.
